This year our little Purple People Eater joined us.

As did his friend Nemo.

At 7:00 tonight as Justin and I sat on the edge of the tub mindlessly staring at our soon to be one-year old sitting on the bathroom floor, tearing through magazines like the greatest of speed readers, I commented on our evening. 5:00 home from the grocery store. Justin unpacks while I start dinner and Addison sits on the floor of the kitchen being bribed by snack. 5:30 still unpacking groceries and still cooking, but passing off a crying Addison from one person to the next. 5:45 groceries are away and Addison's dinner is underway but, he's not diggin the lasagna and throws a little tantrum. 6:00 dinner is going on the table as Justin pushes the Purple People Eater around on his new push and ride fire engine. 6:05 all three of us sit down to eat. 6:15 Addison is again done and just needs mama hugs. Mama continues to eat with the mini dinosaur on her lap. 6:30 Justin is washing dishes while I am lying flat out on the floor allowing my son to crawl over me - he's happy. I'm happy. 6:45 All three of us are lying on the kitchen floor plotting out the rest of our evening. 7:00 finds us sitting on the edge of the tub, waiting for the bath to fill, only to find our city's lovely water is again the color of dirt. No bath tonight, A-Fray, and how did we get so exhausted after the 2 hrs. it took to unload groceries, make dinner, clean up and really have no adult conversation?
Was it really so differentlast year? 2 hrs. to unload groceries, make dinner and clean up - - but no baby hugs. no baby kisses. no unintelligible baby babble. no laying on the kitchen floor. no purple people eater...

As we sat watching our Guidepost from Grandma get slobbered on, we decided Oct. 31 this year was a whole lot better.
How cute! This year has flown by and Addison has grown so fast! The purple people eater looks edible himself:-) love from maine!
