Today we got up on a dreary cold Monday and headed to the Wonderland T-station to meet your Aunties and Cousin Calla. We rode into Boston to go to the science museum. Addison like it a lot! As we were leaving we decided to do some walking and find some Mexican food since it warming up outside. We went to Harvard Square. A-Maz-ing! So yummy. We were all pretty hungry and it was just great. We went into a few stores, I bought Addison a Kinder-egg like I used to buy in Italy. We walked through Harvard Yard while your daddy acted as tour guide.
On the train back to Revere I started to contract but didn't know if it might be just due to needing more water. The contractions continued all the way home. Later that night as I continued to have contractions, we decided we better call our friends downstairs and have them keep their phone on "just in case". We watched the season finale of LOST and I took a bath. Still contracting! So I decided to pack a little.
Went to bed around midnight and slept about 2 hours when a contraction woke me up. They were pretty strong and pretty regular so we started timing. 4-5 minutes apart! We got up and finished packing and I ate some toast. Daddy fell back to sleep but I couldn't. I could not get comfortable. The contractions were hurting my back and making it hard to breathe.
At 5 am I finally called Papa and told him I was in labor and to think about what they were going to do (drive up now from Virginia or wait). I slept from 5:30-6:30 and then called out of work. I was getting the shakes and threw up. I was really excited but also very nervous. All I could think about was getting to meet you soon! When we called the midwife she said to head in, so we called our friend downstairs and left Addison sleeping, heading into the hospital about 7:30am.
Guess what? At the hospital, everything stopped. You were moving like crazy but no contractions. Beth checked me and nothing had changed from my last check-up. I started crying. I was SO disappointed and a little embarrassed and VERY tired. Daddy took me to get pancakes and then I went home and slept. I was SO sure I was in labor. When is it going to really happen?
