March Arrives

The first day of March began with all our snow almost completely melted at last. The lawn was nearly visible, the sidewalks were finally clear, and the only remaining piles were the towering ones at the back of parking lots, where plows had deposited huge piles.

By around 10 that morning it had started snowing. We got a dusting. Then around 12 hours later, the wind and the heavy snow began. On the morning of the 2nd, Addison and I walked over to look out on at our deck, and found Kellie's garden boxes (which were also finally thawing) completely buried. Addison said, "Mommy's garden messy." It looked something like this:



I don't know the finally snow total for our area, but it was definitely the biggest snow of the winter, easily over a foot. A true nor' easter, it howled outside our window all night. Here's a little taste of our big March storm:
