HAPPY BIRTDAY TO YOU! TODAY YOU ARE 2!

My creation
i can't believe you are 2. today I was watching you, staring at your longer legs (not really long in proportion to your body, but longer than they've ever been) and your little boy face, listening to you pour out new words and songs, letters and numbers you are learning daily. my 2 year old! where did 2 years go? when you were a baby I would tire of having strangers in the store tell me to "enjoy it, it goes so fast". but really, truly, 2 years! you are a toddler full of life, joy, music and already, talent. we love you like we never knew was possible.

today, you are 2. you sing yourself to sleep and wake up singing. you like having your socks off. you are obsessed with what's between your toes (maybe that's why you like your socks off). you won't start eating until you have a "fok", even though you are much neater and get much more in your mouth with your fingers. dinner is not complete if you do not receive your "vi-min" (vitamin). music must constantly be playing on the radio for you to sing to, listen to, play your instruments to and dance. you are a fantastic ball player - catching, throwing and shooting hoops. you love to help cook, especially if you get to crack the egg or hold the hand mixer. right now you are obsessed with your pj's - you don't want to take them off in the morning and can't wait to get into them in the...late afternoon. you love stories from your bible and think many things are "scarwy" (scarey). you sleep in a pitch black bedroom, but won't go down the hall that is only partially lit. bubbles keep you entertained for a long time. you have two bicycle helmets that you would wear all day if we didn't hide them. you love barns, tractors and all the animals in them, only not in real life. "catoons" on saturday morning is something you look forward to all week. you would eat pancakes every day if we let you. you have become a parrot and we all of a sudden need to watch our language!

irenaeus wrote, "the glory of God is a person fully alive". addison christian frank, that indeed is you.

  1. Nice little story. It's a good example for other parents out there to record such observations that would otherwise be lost to time.

  2. That is so sweet Kellie! I love how you put specific things that he is saying and doing right now - it's so easy to forget those things! I remember my nephew always saying the funniest things and I swore that when I had a child I would record those little things. It will be so special years from now!
Also congrats on your new little bun in the oven!
