'Round the House - A dresser re*do

This summer I had a project to-do list a mile long.  I got a lot of it done, but there's so much more on my little mind.  We have had this hand-me-down dresser since Addison was born.  I forgot to get a complete "before" picture.  In this picture it obviously has no drawers and has already been sanded...
This guy has some good memories attached to it.  We were given it when I was pregnant with Addison.  We did not have a dresser for him yet and I was excited to get something another family had loved, and something with so many drawers!  It was a light oak color then and at the time I wanted something different.  I told Justin my vision (that it match the crib) and he went to work on it - the first project daddy undertook for our little guy.  Funny thing is, it never spent time near the crib.  Our apartment was so small, it ended up in the laundry room.

It had wooden knobs on it at the time.  I found some cute new knobs at Target with different animals on each one and since we were doing a "light" African animals theme for Addison's room (aka, a corner of OUR room), I thought they would be perfect.  The set only came with 8 knobs though and since the dresser had 9 drawers, Justin just stained one wooden knob and it stayed up top in the center.  I know, I'm cheap, but I also didn't need 7 extra knobs!

Anywho, that guy lasted Addison 4 years until little brother came along and then we got them a large Ikea dresser to share.  The 9 drawer one was moved to the hallway to become a linen dresser.  It got a sand job and a couple coats of paint plus some new faux crystal knobs I found at Home Goods - but same thing - - packs of 4.  I should have just splurged and boughten 3 packs of them but I didn't.  Now I really want 9 matching knobs and of course Home Goods is out of them.  So, for the time being, it will also have one wooden knob (although it WILL be painted blue to match the paint...)
