So, I was dreading the past week; it was February vacation up here in the northeast. (Which I wasn't even aware was a regional thing until marrying my West coast husband.) It's a cold week off in the middle of winter. Addison doesn't have school, Bible study is cancelled, his little friends are off on vacations - well, his best friend is off on vacation, there's still snow covering sidewalks and playgrounds, and there's just NOTHING TO DO AROUND HERE! I love the beginning of winter. Really love it. And then...February comes and March and it's just UGH!
But, know what? It hasn't been bad. I've been so thankful! Last year this week was horrible. Justin's parents had just left us a little bit earlier, Justin was back to work, it was dark and gloomy, my friends AND Addison's friends were on vacation and I was 2 1/2 months pregnant and miserable! I was an emotional wreck. Crying all the time, losing weight, seeing doctors. Not pretty!
So, I start this week's one thousand gifts with a good perspective - one in which I see how far we've grown as a family in a year and one in which I can see how God has been so very faithful.
11. God's faithfulness to me, to my family
12. Friends that helped keep me busy this week
13. The free babysitting drop off at the Y!
14. Downtown Gloucester in the morning - beautiful old buildings, sea gulls, the harbors
15. Samuel's smile (I know I've said that before, but it's oh, so true!)
16. The afternoon sun
17. Steak tips - one of my favorite foods!!!
18. 3 kiddos that are in bed at 7:00 - maybe not asleep, but at least in bed!!!
19. Seed catalogues. Oh, they could get me in SO much trouble.
20. The promise of spring!!!!
