Hollywood has arrived in little Rockport and has begun transforming it into Sitka, Alaska for a Sandra Bullock movie, "The Proposal." Evergreens were placed around. New signage. Complete new storefronts. Russian! And lots of small town excitement.
As we approached the large tree in the city center, again we noticed something not quite right.

We talked with the man whose job it was to hand-tie leaves onto the bare New England branches. He said he was getting paid $100/hr. so he was really in no rush. We didn't see any scenes filmed that day, but that night Sandra did get in an accident one block from our house - - she was fine. And today as Justin and I headed to breakfast, we noticed large trucks parked in front of Cripple Cove, just down the road from our home. We pulled in as close as we could get and was able to watch Sandra film one scene. She came out of a "bar" (actually a marina), took her veil off and threw some peanuts in the harbor. They shot this about five times.
It's pretty cool that they picked our area to do this, it just makes us wonder - why not Sitka, Alaska??
