Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday. I made cinnamon rolls (mom's recipe and the one thing I bake) for breakfast between sunrise service and our main service next door. A few people came over right afterwards for rolls and coffee, and Joanna and all the Bushfield children came up a little later to eat and to play.

The church was full, the sun was bright. Addison wore what has now become his traditional sear-sucker suit. He looked like some kind of a cross between a traveling evangelist and a used car salesman. Having awoken him early for the sunrise service, even all the other kids around to play with couldn't keep him from crashing in the nursery.

Afterwards we went for lunch downstairs with the Bushfields and some other friends. The food was great, the kids searched for Easter eggs, we talked for awhile then went upstairs to put A to bed and enjoy a quiet evening.

This was our third Easter with myself on in some capacity at Community Church, and we are beginning to settle in to the traditions and patterns of the church year in this place. It was a good weekend. And we are grateful.
