We are Family

So yesterday Justin and I watched "Dan in Real Life", which is pretty funny by the way. But honestly, it really just had me pretty close to tears quite a bit. In the movie, a large family of grown children and grandchildren meet up at their parents cabin for a week. You know, it showed them playing games together, big dinners, crazy talent show night (every family does that, right?), bowling - all those lovely family things, and it MADE ME MISS FAMILY SO MUCH!

Addison has started saying "Andma" for Grandma and "Papa", but I want him to KNOW THEM! I want to be able to drive down the road and visit them! Even a 60 minute drive wouldn't be bad, but come on! Virginia or Oregon?

Grandma Frank got to come while we were preparing the apartment back in January. She was a huge help, pratically finishing Addison's bedroom and ours. She got up with him many a morning and watched Charlotte's Web. We braved the January weather to take a walk on Good Harbor. She experienced our new home while we had no kitchen, no place to sit and strong fumes wafting throughout the house.



Papa and Grammie Hitchings came for about 2 weeks in February. They got to babysit him for his first ever 2 nights away from mom and dad while we went to York Beach to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Mom brought her sewing machine and worked on pillows and a tablecloth for me while dad did all kinds of little repairs that Justin and I would probably never think of :) and finished our bathroom for us. I know, I know EVERYONE wants to see pics of the new place now completed, but you'll have to wait just a little bit longer. I have one more trip to Ikea before taking the "This is it!" photos.



So, we miss you. We miss you so much. We wish it could be more, but we'll settle for what we can get.
